Amen Come, Lord Jesus!

When will the Lord Jesus come? Nobody knows except the Father in heaven, Christ Himself said. Jesus Christ, the Son of God is the second Person of Triune God. If He does not know when He will come, who can know about it? Therefore, if anyone claims that Christ will come on a certain date, month and year, then they are false prophets. Many have gone astray in this regard and led many misled peole into a spiritual destruction. We never know the date of His return. Then why are we worried about the projected time of Lord's return? Whenever He returns, it's the time when He will return as He said to us, " I will come quickly." How quick? I don't know. Many people got exceedingly impatient with His seemingly long delayed return and went sour on His promise by saying, "Where is this promised presence of His? Why. from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as from creation's beginning"(II Peter 3:4). Do you know the real reason why the Lord Jesus didn't tell us when He will return and nearly 2,000 years have passed since He promised He would return quickly? The answer is also found in the same chapter, " One day is with God as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. God is not slow respecting His promise, but He is patient with you because He desires all to attain to repentance"(II Peter 3:8,9). Futher the Bible says, "Yet God's day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a hissing noise, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved and earth and the works in it will be discovered. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion, awaiting and keeping close in mind the presence of the Day of the Lord, through which the heavens being on fire will be dissolved and the elements being intensely hot will melt! BUT THERE ARE NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH THAT WE ARE AWAITING ACCORDING TO HIS PROMISE, AND IN THESE RIGHTEOUSNESS IS TO DWELL"(II Peter 3:10-13). What an awestruck warning for us who live in this last generation of the world! Never think that the wheels of current world will roll forever. There is an end to everything in this material world. Didn't God say to us earlier in Isaiah 65:17,"FOR HERE I AM CREATING NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH, AND THE FORMER THINGS WILL NOT BE CALLED TO MIND, NEITHER WILL THEY COME UP INTO THE HEART"? Yes Jesus is ceating a new dwelling place for you and me and promised to take us there to be with Him in John 14, "DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED. EXERCISE FAITH IN GOD, EXERCISE FAITH ALSO IN ME. IN THE HOUSE OF MY FATHER THERE ARE MANY ABODES. OTHERWISE, I WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU, BECAUSE I AM GOING MY WAY OT PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU. ALSO, IF I GO MY WAY AND PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU, I AM COMING AGAIN AND WILL RECEIVE YOU HOME TO MYSELF, THAT WHERE I AM YOU ALSO MAY BE. AND WHERE I AM GOING YOU KNOW THE WAY"(vs. 1-4). Some will say, "what shall I do with my hard-earned money, fame, career, education, wealth if He returns tonight?". Don't worry. The Lord will give you a transformed body like Him instead and you will live forever like Him, seeing Him face to face and enjoying all blessings that you could not even expect. Isn't that more valuable and perpetual blessings compared to having everything in this temporal and transient world, staying only 70 or 80 years if you are healthy? Take this word above seriously, my children and friends! N.B. The word, 'elements'(stoikeia in Greek) in II Peter 3 was a chemistry term used by the alchemists of the ancient Greece(now chemicists). I don't think that apostle Peter, an uneducated fisherman of Palestine knew about the chemical science of that day, yet he chose this specific word by the influence of the Holy Spirit, the ultimate writer of the Bible.

  1. Great reminder that our lives and possessions are temporary and fleeting. This world is not our home!

  2. Yes they are temporary to which many people cling to with all their mind and might. Rather we should fix our eyes on Jesus our Lord!
