Investigators said Tuesday(today is May 22, 2012) that "direct and circumstantial" evidence leads them to believe that a 21-year-old man kidnapped and killed 15-year-old Sierra LaMar, a high school cheerleader who disappeared in March on her way to school. Her hometown, Morgan Hill is only 30 miles away from where I live.
Out of many comments on this sad news, the following caught my attention;
As a mother, I am absolutely heartbroken at this news. As a human being…completely appalled by this act. Whoever did it MUST PAY! Our prayers are with SIERRA’s family! God give you strength!
In Deuteronomy 19:13, Jehovah God says;
“Show him no pity. You must purge from Israel the guilt of shedding innocent blood, so that it may go well with you.”
There is the reason why God says so, which we can find in Genesis account.
"Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man”(Genesis 9:6).
Revelation 6:9-10 reads;
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood.
They cried (ἔκραζον)/ How long (ἕως πότε) Lit., until when./ Sovereign Lord (ὁ δεσπότης)/
True (ἀληθινὸς)/ Judge (κρίνεις) Originally the verb means to separate; thence the idea of selection: to pick out, and so to discriminate or judge./ Avenge (ἐκδικεῖς)/ On the earth (ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς) Earth, in Revelation, is generally to be understood of the ungodly earth.
That is, their blood, like that of Abel, cried for vengeance; for we are not to suppose that there was anything like a vindictive spirit in those happy and holy souls who had shed their blood for the testimony of Jesus. We sometimes say Blood cries for blood; that is, in the order of Divine justice, every murderer, and every murdering persecutor, shall be punished.
