Lightweight Answers for Heavyweight Questions-6

Today’s heavy question is: “ Why did God make man in His image?”

The simplest answer is:

“Before the world began, God planned to have many of His sons through Jesus Christ and prepared everything for making Adam (=a man). During the five days of creation, He prepared everything before making Adam with dust ( in Hebrew ‘adama’ = red dust).  He breathed His breath of life into the nostril of Adam and he became a living soul(=being).

Before making Adam, there has been a meeting between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and God decided to create man in His Image and Likeness BECAUSE His sons (you and me) through God’s Son and Jesus Christ must have the same image and likeness in order for us to be His “brothers” calling the  same Father in Heaven, “Abba Father.”

The homogeneity of image and likeness will enable the Son of God to come in the flesh in the image and likeness of sons of man (you and me) many thousand years later.

We can say; God created us in His image and God the Son came in the flesh in our likeness to make us Jesus’ brothers and take us to where Jesus is,  so we can serve Him as His beloved children.”

We read in, Genesis 1:26;

“Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Thank You God for making us in Your Own Image and Likeness so that we have been chosen to be Your children through Jesus Christ, Who calls us “My brothers.” Amen.
