Lightweight Answers for Heavyweight Questions-17

Today’s question is: “What does it mean when Jesus says I am Alpha(Α) and Omega(Ω)?”

The simplest answer is: “Jesus is God of Creation , Who begins and ends everything perfect as He planned before the foundation of the world.”

We read in, Revelation 21:6;

“He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.

The Greek alphabetic system consists of 24 letters and its order starts with Alpha and ends with Omega. Jesus is the Originator and Finisher of all things in His creation. He is the Author of our salvation through His suffering and death and proclaims, “It Is Done”.

Hebrews 2:10

“In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.”

John 19:30

“When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

Lord Jesus, the Beginning and the End of our journey of life, give us water of life from the fountain of the Blood that You shed for us at Calvary!
