Lightweight Answers for Heavyweight Questions-3

Today’s question is: Why is God in Three Persons?

The simplest answer is:

“ God is a Person Who has a three Personhood. The Triune God is not a three-horned monster as some claims, rather He is One God Who is the Father, Holy Spirit, Son sharing the same in Glory and Power.

There is no Three Gods in Heaven but there is the One God the Father, the Son, Lamb of God and the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. The Son came in the Name of the Father and the Holy Spirit comes in the Name of the Son. The Father did not create the Son but the Son was “Only Begotten” (μονογενῆ monogene) of the Father.

The Son in flesh was conceived by the Holy Spirit but the Spirit did not created the Son. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father and the Spirit of the Son also. There is Oneness and Unity between the Three Godhead but there is neither Division or Disharmony between the Three. Three is One and One is Three.

This truth is a total mystery to us, the finite human beings.  We will see Him as He is someday. We will see One God in Three Persons in Heaven. Just wait till then. Do not believe false teachings other than this truth of the Bible; our God is One God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”

We read in John 3:16;

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

We read in 1 Peter 1:1-2;

To God’s elect, strangers in the world, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by His blood:

O, Blessed Triune God -The Father, Son, Holy Spirit! Thanks for saving us in unity. Amen.
