JESUS Is The Light Of The World

Isaiah 60:1-22 NIV

The Glory of Zion

1“Arise, Shine, for your Light Has Come,

and The Glory of The LORD Rises Upon you.

2See, darkness covers the earth

and thick darkness is over the peoples,

but The LORD Rises Upon you

and HIS Glory Appears Over you.

3Nations will come to your Light,
and kings to the brightness of your Dawn.

4“Lift up your eyes and look about you:
All assemble and come to you;
your sons come from afar,
and your daughters are carried on the hip.
5Then you will look and be radiant,
your heart will throb and swell with joy;
the wealth on the seas will be brought to you,
to you the riches of the nations will come.

6Herds of camels will cover your land,
young camels of Midian and Ephah.
And all from Sheba will come,
bearing gold and incense
and proclaiming The Praise of The LORD.

7All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you,
the rams of Nebaioth will serve you;
they will be accepted as offerings on MY Altar,
and I Will Adorn MY Glorious Temple.
8“Who are these that fly along like clouds,
like doves to their nests?

9Surely the islands look to ME;
in the lead are the ships of Tarshish,a
bringing your children from afar,
with their silver and gold,
to The Honor of The LORD your GOD,
The Holy ONE of Israel,
for HE Has Endowed you with splendor.

10“Foreigners will rebuild your walls,
and their kings will serve you.
Though in anger I Struck you,
in Favor I Will show you Compassion.

11Your gates will always stand open,
they will never be shut, day or night,
so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations—
their kings led in triumphal procession.

12For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish;
it will be utterly ruined.

13“The glory of Lebanon will come to you,
the juniper, the fir and the cypress together,
To Adorn MY Sanctuary;
and I Will Glorify the Place For MY Feet.

14The children of your oppressors will come bowing before you;
all who despise you will bow down at your feet
and will call you The City of The LORD,
Zion of The HOLY ONE of Israel.

15“Although you have been forsaken and hated,
with no one traveling through,
I Will Make you the everlasting pride
and the joy of all generations.
16You will drink the milk of nations
and be nursed at royal breasts.

Then you will know that I, The LORD, AM your SAVIOR, your REDEEMER, The MIGHTY ONE of Jacob.

17Instead of bronze I will bring you gold,
and silver in place of iron.
Instead of wood I will bring you bronze,
and iron in place of stones.
I Will Make peace your governor
and well-being your ruler.

18No longer will violence be heard in your land,
nor ruin or destruction within your borders,
but you will call your walls Salvation
and your gates Praise.

19The sun will no more be your light by day,

nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,

For The LORD Will Be your Everlasting Light,

and your GOD Will Be your Glory.

20Your sun will never set again,
and your moon will wane no more;

The LORD Will Be your Everlasting Light,

and your days of sorrow will end.

21Then all your people will be righteous

and they will possess the land forever.

They are the shoot I Have Planted,

The Work of MY Hands,

For The Display of MY Splendor.

22The least of you will become a thousand,

the smallest a mighty nation.

I AM The LORD;

in its time I Will Do this swiftly.”

Isaiah 60

60:1-8 As far as we have the knowledge of GOD in us, and the Favor of GOD towards us, our Light is come. And If GOD'S Glory Is Seen upon us to our honor, we ought, not only with our lips, but in our lives, to return its praise. We meet with nothing in the history of the Jews which can be deemed a fulfillment of the prophecy in this chapter; we must conclude it relates principally to future events. It predicts the purity and enlargement of the church. The conversion of souls is here described. They fly to CHRIST, to the church, to the word and ordinances, as doves to their own home; they fly for refuge, shelter, and rest. What a pleasant sight to see poor souls hastening to CHRIST!

60:9-14 GOD Will Be Very Gracious. We must begin with HIS Promise, thence all mercies take rise. Many shall be brought into the church, even from far countries. CHRIST is always ready to receive all who come to HIM; and the gate of mercy is always open, night and day. All that are about the church shall be made serviceable to it. But those who will not be subject to CHRIST'S Golden Scepter, to HIS WORD and SPIRIT, WHO Will Not Be Kept in by the laws and rules of HIS Church, shall be broken in pieces by HIS iron rod.

The peculiar advantages of every nation, and of every description of men, shall join to beautify The Church of CHRIST. We must suppose this to be accomplished in the beauties of holiness, and the graces and comforts of The HOLY SPIRIT, with which gospel ordinances are adorned and enriched. Blessed be HIS Name, the gates of Zion are ever open to returning sinners.

60:15-22 We must look for the full accomplishment in times and things, exceeding those of the Old Testament church. The nations and their kings shall lay themselves out for the good of the Church. Such a salvation, such a redemption, shall be wrought out for you, as discovers itself to be The WORD of The LORD.  Everything shall be changed for the better. In your land shall no more be heard threats of those that do violence, nor complaints of those that suffer violence. Thy walls shall be means of safety, thy gates shall be written upon with praises to GOD. In the close of this chapter are images and expressions used in the description of The New Jerusalem, Revelation 21:23; 22:5.

Nothing can answer to this but some future glorious state of the church on earth, or the state of the church triumphant in heaven. Those who make GOD their only light, shall have HIM their all-sufficient light. And the happiness shall know no change. No people on earth are all righteous; but there are no mixtures in Heaven. They shall be all righteous. The spirits of just men shall there be made perfect.

The Glory of the Church shall be to the Honor of GOD. When it shall be finished, it will appear a work of wonder. It may seem too difficult to be brought about, but The GOD of Almighty Power has undertaken it. It may seem to be delayed and put off; but The LORD will hasten it in the time appointed by HIS Wisdom, though not in the time prescribed by our folly.

Let this hope cheer us under all difficulties, and stir us up to all diligence, that we may have an abundant entrance into this Everlasting KINGDOM of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS.

AMEN!

Give Thanks To GOD For HIS Mercy In CHRIST JESUS

Thessalonians 5:16~18 NIV

Rejoice always,
Pray continually,
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is GOD’S WILL for you in CHRIST JESUS.

I read the following article and was blessed, so I want to share with you. (Some spellings are capitalized by the blogger)

Why is giving thanks to GOD important?

The Bible is filled with commands to give thanks to GOD (Psalm 106:1107:1118:11 Chronicles 16:341 Thessalonians 5:18). Most verses go on to list reasons why we should thank Him, such as “His Love Endures Forever” (Psalm 136:3), “HE Is Good” (Psalm 118:29), and “His Mercy Is Everlasting” (Psalm 100:5). Thanksgiving and praise always go together. We cannot adequately praise and worship GOD without also being thankful.

Feeling and expressing appreciation is good for us. Like any wise father, GOD Wants us to learn to be thankful for all the gifts HE Has Given us (James 1:17). It is in our best interest to be reminded that everything we have is a gift from HIM. Without gratefulness, we become arrogant and self-centered. We begin to believe that we have achieved everything on our own. Thankfulness keeps our hearts in right relationship to the Giver of all good gifts.

Giving thanks also reminds us of how much we do have. Human beings are prone to covetousness. We tend to focus on what we don’t have. By giving thanks continually we are reminded of how much we do have. When we focus on blessings rather than wants, we are happier. When we start thanking GOD for the things we usually take for granted, our perspective changes. We realize that we could not even exist without the merciful blessings of GOD.

First Thessalonians 5:18 says,

“In everything give thanks; for this is GOD’S Will for you in CHRIST JESUS.”

We are to be thankful not only for the things we like, but for the circumstances we don’t like. When we purpose to thank GOD for everything that HE Allows To Come into our lives, we keep bitterness at bay. We cannot be both thankful and bitter at the same time. We do not thank HIM for evil, but that HE Is Sustaining us through it (James 1:12). We don’t thank HIM for harm HE Did Not Cause, but we thank HIM When HE Gives us the strength to endure it (2 Corinthians 12:9). We thank HIM for His Promise that “all things will work together for the good, to those who love GOD and are called according to His Purpose” (Romans 8:28).

We can have thankful hearts toward GOD even when we do not feel thankful for the circumstance. We can grieve and still be thankful. We can hurt and still be thankful. We can be angry at sin and still be thankful toward GOD. That is what the Bible calls a “sacrifice of praise” (Hebrews 13:15). Giving thanks to GOD keeps our hearts in right relationship with HIM and saves us from a host of harmful emotions and attitudes that will rob us of the peace GOD wants us to experience (Philippians 4:6–7).

 Thank YOU for Saving us, LORD JESUS.  We Love YOU Forever!

JESUS Is Our REDEEMER(=HE Paid our debt)

Isaiah 59:1-21 NIV

Sin, Confession and Redemption

1 Surely The Arm of The LORD Is Not Too Short To Save,
nor HIS Ear Too Dull To Hear.

2But your iniquities have separated
you from your GOD;
your sins have hidden HIS Face from you,
so that HE Will Not Hear.

3For your hands are stained with blood,
your fingers with guilt.
Your lips have spoken falsely,
and your tongue mutters wicked things.
4No one calls for justice;
no one pleads a case with integrity.
They rely on empty arguments, they utter lies;
they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.
5They hatch the eggs of vipers
and spin a spider’s web.
Whoever eats their eggs will die,
and when one is broken, an adder is hatched.
6Their cobwebs are useless for clothing;
they cannot cover themselves with what they make.
Their deeds are evil deeds,
and acts of violence are in their hands.
7Their feet rush into sin;
they are swift to shed innocent blood.
They pursue evil schemes;
acts of violence mark their ways.
8The way of peace they do not know;
there is no justice in their paths.
They have turned them into crooked roads;
no one who walks along them will know peace.
9So justice is far from us,
and righteousness does not reach us.
We look for light, but all is darkness;
for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.
10Like the blind we grope along the wall,
feeling our way like people without eyes.
At midday we stumble as if it were twilight;
among the strong, we are like the dead.
11We all growl like bears;
we moan mournfully like doves.
We look for justice, but find none;
for deliverance, but it is far away.
12For our offenses are many in Your Sight,
and our sins testify against us.
Our offenses are ever with us,
and we acknowledge our iniquities:
13rebellion and treachery against The LORD,
turning our backs on our GOD,
inciting revolt and oppression,
uttering lies our hearts have conceived.
14So justice is driven back,
and righteousness stands at a distance;
truth has stumbled in the streets,
honesty cannot enter.
15Truth is nowhere to be found,
and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey.
The LORD Looked and Was Displeased
that there was no justice.

16 HE Saw that there was no one,

HE Was Appalled that there was no one to intervene;

So HIS OWN Arm Achieved Salvation for HIM,

and HIS OWN Righteousness Sustained HIM.

17 HE Put On Righteousness as HIS Breastplate,

and The Helmet of Salvation on HIS Head;

HE Put on the garments of vengeance

and Wrapped HIMSELF in zeal as in a cloak.

18According to what they have done,
so Will HE Repay
Wrath to His enemies
and Retribution to His foes;
HE Will Repay the islands their due.
19From the west, people will fear The Name of The LORD,
and from the rising of the sun, they will revere His Glory.
For HE Will Come like a pent-up flood
that The Breath of The LORD Drives along.a

20The REDEEMER Will Come To Zion,

Goel - Kinsman Redeemer)

to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,”

Declares The LORD.

21“As For ME, This Is MY Covenant With

them,”

Says The LORD.

MY SPIRIT, WHO Is On you, Will Not

Depart from you, and MY WORDS that I

Have Put in your mouth Will always Be on

your lips, on the lips of your children and

on the lips of their descendants—from

this time on and forever,”

Says The LORD.

The foregoing elegant chapter contained a severe reproof of the Jews, in particular for their hypocrisy in pretending to make them accepted with GOD by fasting and outward humiliation without true repentance; while they still continued to oppress the poor, and indulge their own passions and vices; with great promises however of GOD's Favor on condition of their reformation.

This chapter contains a more general reproof of their wickedness, bloodshed, violence, falsehood, injustice of the Jews, Isaiah 59:1-8 After this they are represented confessing their sins, and deploring the unhappy consequences of them, Isaiah 59:9-15.

On this act of humiliation GOD, ever ready to pardon the penitent, Promises that HE Will Have Mercy on them; that The REDEEMER Will Come, Mighty To Save; and that HE Will Deliver HIS people, Subdue HIS enemies and Establish a New and Everlasting Covenant, Isaiah 59:16-21.

This REDEEMER Is JESUS CHRIST our LORD and SAVIOR!

Amen.
